Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Download & print the PDF pattern, then cut it out.
  2. Create two fabric “sandwiches”:
    • Bottom: cotton (wrong side up)
    • Middle: batting
    • Top: cotton (right side up)
  3. Clip the bias tape to the top edge of each sandwich and sew across to attach.
  4. Stack both sandwiches, aligning the bias-bound edge.
  5. Align the flat edge of the PDF pattern with the bias tape.
  6. Pin or clip the pattern and layers together.
  7. Sew around all edges, leaving the bias tape edge open for turning.
  8. Turn the cover right-side out, then give it a press.
    • Optional: topstitch around the edges for durability and a finished look.

Pro Tips

  • Use pinking shears to trim the edges—it helps reduce fraying and creates a neat finish.
  • Choose fabrics you love! This is a great scrap-buster project, and you can make several in different prints.
  • Topstitch for polish—adds strength and a decorative touch.
  • Wash with care. Since it’s cotton and batting, it is machine washable—just let it air dry for longevity.
