Have you or your little one been experiencing nightmares? My daughter and I learned this recipe from our fairy, Petri. It is a pixie dust recipe for sweet dreams and banishing those pesky nightmares. Mix up this pixie dust and sprinkle a tiny bit under your pillow before bed for magical dreams and a restful night. The key to this recipe is creativity. As you are mixing up the recipe, try hard to think of your favorite memories and most magical dreams. Add charms and glitter to your potion bottle for a touch of whimsy and sprinkle of magic.

The Supplies

The Instructions

1.) Combine and Grind: In your mixing bowl, combine the dried lavender, chamomile, rose petals, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

2.) Create the Dust: Using a mortar and pestle or a spice grinder, grind the mixture into a fine powder. The finer the grind, the more "dust-like" it will be.

3.) Enhance the Aroma (Optional): If you'd like a stronger lavender scent, add a few drops of lavender essential oil to the mixture and stir well.

4.) Sprinkle Some Magic (Optional): Add some glittering magic to your pixie dust with some biodegradable glitter. Choose a special celestial charm, grip it tight, and think of a happy memory or magical dream. Place your charm at the bottom of the potion bottle.

5.) Bottle Your Magic: Carefully pour your pixie dust into the miniature potion bottle. Tie twine around the top of your bottle and attach a label and additional celestial charms.

How to Use Your Pixie Dust

Keep your pixie dust near your bed and as you get into bed for the night, sprinkle a small amount of pixie dust on your pillowcase. If you have a lot of mixture left over, you can even make a dream sachet by filling a small bag with your pixie dust and tucking it under your pillow.

Why did we use these ingredients?

Lavender: Known for its calming and relaxing properties, lavender can help reduce anxiety and promote sleep.

Chamomile: A gentle herb often used in bedtime teas, chamomile has soothing effects that can ease you into slumber.

Rose Petals: Roses have a calming aroma that can help reduce stress and improve mood.
