Mixing the Scent
For this recipe I will provide mixing instructions to craft the “Woodland Stream” fantasy scent. Read The Enchanter’s Elixir: Crafting Whimsical Scents with Essential Oils for more fantasy themed essential oil blend recipes.
Woodland Stream
The scent of the Woodland Stream is an earthy portal to a hidden glen with a hint of aquatic freshness weaving its way through the mixture. This blend is the essence of the forest after rain – clean, vibrant, and thrumming with quiet energy.
Mix the following quantities of pure essential oils to create the blend:
- 13 drops Tea Tree Pure Essential Oil
- 6 drops Bergamot Pure Essential Oil
- 6 drops Lemon Pure Essential Oil
Crafting The Dryer Sheets
You will need the following materials for this recipe:
- 25 drops of Woodland Stream Essential Oil Blend (follow mixing instructions above)
- 4 5-Inch Squares of Flannel (purchase flannel from a fabric shop or cut an old flannel shirt into 5-Inch squares)
Grab an assorted set of 8 handmade squares for $12 from our Etsy shop. - 8 Ounce Glass Mason Jar
- 6 Ounces Distilled White Vinegar
Follow these steps to create the dryer sheets:
- Pour the vinegar into the mason jar.
- Add 25 drops of your fantasy oil blend.
- Seal the jar tight and shake well to blend.
- Place the fabric squares fully submerged in the jar for at least 30 minutes to absorb the scent.
- After soaking, wring out a square and place it in the dryer with your wet clothes.
- After clothes are dry, return the square to the jar for reuse.
For a stronger scent, soak the cotton at least 24 hours before using. As with any essential oils or mixture, store the mason jar in a cool, dark room away from excessive humidity. Mason jars of darker color like amber work best for preserving the scent.
Top off the vinegar and replace essential oil scent as needed.
