During this past Thanksgiving my mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She had been sick since Halloween and I kept taking her from doctor to doctor and hospital to hospital. Every time we pleaded and explained that something was wrong but they would come back with an explanation from long covid to an infection. Finally after almost a month of her progressively getting worse, I brought her to the hospital and refused to leave until someone did a CT scan.

That night was the beginning of a two-week long hospital stay that changed our lives forever. Months later it is slightly less of a shock but I each day is still a struggle to complete the bare minimum. She was very lucky to be diagnosed early but each day is a battle for her and the toughest part has been keeping her spirits up. Thankfully she was in the 20% of people to receive an early diagnosis and is considered a candidate for the Whipple procedure. She will receive scans in two more weeks to determine how she has responded to chemo and if her pancreas has calmed down enough from the pancreatitis to schedule the procedure.

Last week at the cancer center, one of the office staff members gave out crocheted hearts that were called "pocket hugs". The handmade gift paired with the uplifting message meant a lot to remind us that we are not alone in the journey. I just received a sublimation printer last week for my birthday so I thought it would be a fun idea to create something I can also hand out to others on a similar journey. I made these coaster designs with some phrases that are meaningful right now during to my mom and I. I'm hoping that maybe they will speak to others as well and encourage them on their path. No matter what you are going through, I hope you enjoy these 8 inspirational messages and that they might bring you some peace. Know that you are not alone.

These designs are specifically sized for 2.75 x 2.75 inch coasters. The PNG file is a circle and can be resized to fit different circular coaster sizes. Feel free to use your own coasters. These are the coasters I purchased from Amazon for this project. They were inexpensive fabric coasters that I found to absorb the dyes very nicely. As a side note, I have always been religious. I know it is difficult to maintain faith with devastating news but I find comfort in putting this into God's hands.
