DIY Lip Balm Keychain Case: A Simple Sewing Project with Free Pattern
SCRAPBUSTER BEGINNER QUICK SEW

Say goodbye to lost lip balm and hello to a cute and practical accessory! This beginner-friendly sewing tutorial will guide you through creating your very own lip balm keychain holder. It's a quick and easy project that's perfect for using up fabric scraps and learning basic sewing skills. Plus, you'll end up with a handy little case to keep your lip balm within reach at all times. So grab your sewing machine, gather your materials, and let's get stitching!

For this project, you will need:
Two fabric rectangles sized (2.5 x 6 inches), Fusible Interfacing, A Fabric Keychain Loop, A Keychain Ring or Carbiner Hook, Handmade Tags (Optional), Lip Balm/Chapstick

Apply fusible interfacing to the wrong side of both rectangles.

Optionally sew a handmade tag to the top, right-side of one of the rectangles. On the same rectangle, sew a keychain loop in place on the right side of the fabric. Match keychain loop raw edges to the top center of the rectangle.

With right sides together, sew around the fabric, leaving an opening for turning.

Trim corners, Flip fabric to right side, and iron flat.

Fold the bottom of the fabric up to make a pouch for the lip balm. Top stitch around the lip balm case as indicated by the dashed lines.

Attach the keychain ring to the keychain loop, insert a lip balm and enjoy! Not only are these keychains adorable and fun for your purse, but they make great gifts and are always a hit at craft fairs.
